Agreed and probably makes too much sense with the Commissioner essentially operating as a full time television/media rights concierge at this point.

I agree unless they get someone from out of the conference who has a Tobacco Road history.

I know Oliver Luck is in the middle of suing Vince McMahon for millions, but he is only 60 years old and has a ton of experience and he would excel in this role as ACC Commish. I would make a phone call to him. Worth an interview

The lunacy that the ACC wouldn't hire the best person b/c they geographically live somewhere is bad business. ACC may be a southern conference historically but money is green. John Wildhack would be a grandslam hire. I suspect JW isn't cash strapped and probably is making less $$ as AD than at ESPN so he won't be swayed by the normal job jumping reasons.

Keep in mind that "Tobacco Road" only controls - at most - 5 votes. There are 15 total votes in the ACC. The new commissioner could absolutely come from the North - as long as his football credentials are good enough to satisfy the likes of Virginia Tech, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Miami.
