John Wall vs MCW...

is on the ESPN sidebar of segments coming up. Amazing. 72 hours ago the only people who would recognize "MCW" would be us on this forum. Cuse hoops and the Sixers are the two teams who are I most passionate about. I love it.

John Wall came out with something to prove. He was running his mouth at MCW the entire first half. MCW got the last laugh however outplaying Wall in the second half, hitting big shots to secure the win.

Its really great for the program if Dion and MCW can become established known NBA players to go with Melo. Amazing the amount of buzz MCW has created for himself. Even if he just plays OK and keeps the Sixers in discussion for a while its a huge acomplishment.

And I agree John Wall! He should worry about staying healthy and trying to get his team in the win collumn rather than another young guard and out doing him.

Outside of derrick rose john cal's wonder kids arent impressing or showing to be real winners. They are getting their stats but even anthony davis isnt some dominating force. Truth I feel that he isnt developing squat.

It is disingenous to say look at all the pro's he's developed at UK. These are kids who would get drafted regardless all he had to do was put them on the court, now obviously he did more than that but I agree he isn't some great developer of players. Just like JB didn't suddenly develop Melo's awesome talent. Surely Melo learned a lot about how to play the game while he was at SU but he was an NBA talent before he got there. I do think JB and staff did a great job with Melo the difference early season to late in the way he played was huge. A lot of that credit also has to go to the player who is hugely talented, obviously going to the NBA soon and still willingto listen to the coaches and improve.
Cal does have the personality to make it work pretty well with basically all new highly talented guys every year. So its not like he;s doing nothing.

I watched the game on League Pass. Wall came out with fire in his eyes. The announcers even said that MCW was the talk in the Wizards locker room and Wall wanted to shut him up. Wall was on fire and was trash talking MCW literally nonstop the entire first half. He made Devo look like a saint. However, in the second half Wall did next to nothing and MCW scored 12 of his 14 including a big step back three to give Philly the lead. The Wizards announcers were clearly impressed by MCW.

I fell asleep watching a replay of Kentucky v Transelvania. It was within single digits most of the first half. I was not impressed with the Coach Cal kid wonders. Although I could see the potential. They did not seem to be a disciplined team to me. Not sure how the game ended. Bad news is that they will eventually gel as a team.

For awhile. Wall came out and killed MCW in the first half. Completely one sided.

But MCW persevered, Wall cooled off and faded, and down the stretch MCW made big plays while Wall did nothing as his team choked the game away.

Wall had the better stat line, but you can't really call that a win for him when the game ended with his team losing and him getting outplayed by the rookie in crunch time.

It was a typical Kentucky, front runner, bandwagon performance....lot of flash, but in the end there wasn't a whole lot of substance there when things got tough.

They didnt gel last year so hopefully they dont this year either. I still think without a upperclassman like darius miller they are going to be a bunch of talented parts who play selfishly.

I dont deny that they are putting up stats.. and they would put up stats if they spent their frosh year at albany and jumped to the pros. My point is uk is not a pro factory. They just are able to recruit future pros to come enjoy the high life on campus and utilize cal's agent and pro connections. He is not doing anything for their career basketball skill wise.
