Obviously they are made with the intention of illustrating all the upside aspects of the young players and what we see is the cherry picked footage of all the good plays. There are a multitude of things which come into play with each kid that all have to line up and fit with the needs and style of play for each college team.

Some kids look awesome on a video and when they arrive on campus it only then becomes apparent that they have a long way to go before they are ready to contribute. Some come...and never substantively improve while they occupy a scholarship spot while others improve by leaps and bounds and exceed everyone's expectations.

One thing is for sure and that is the huge importance of each kid we bring in over the next several seasons  being an impactful player  since we do not have the margin of error we would typically have with a full compliment of scholarships.  I think our staff does a great job in determining which kids will be successful within the structure of the Syracuse program and playing philosophy. With all the added pressure over the next several seasons I don't envy the huge task that the coaches and assistants have in that regard.
