Man,it didn't look good. Really hoping the injury doesn't end his year because that kid looks like a player. On the other hand,Jordan Fredericks. What happened? Given opportunities and just can't hold onto the football. Hope he stays mentally strong and fights back.

Was just about to post the same thing. That did not look good. We may run out of bodies on the DL before this season is over.

I watched Wilson on a couple of series. He is either injured, lazy or really out of condition as he was getting completely pushed out of the play on every down. He was also resting on his knee until right before the snap.

I shudder to think that they might have to convert a 2nd or 3d string OL if more players go down.

Hip or groin. Radio reported that he was on an exercise bike on the sidelines trying to get loose.

BTW ... Coleman will have to sit the 1st half against Va Tech.

That's 3 OL starters, 2 DB starters (maybe 3 if Hudson is in concussion protocol), and a DL if you're scoring at home.

I hope these coaches are looking at 3-4 JUCOs...hate to get in this cycle but we need some line depth... could use a WR too

If you're replacing a 5 star kid with another 5 star or 4 star kid, injuries aren't a big deal.

For the rest of us, the "next man up" is usually not as good as the "first man up".

listen i get it. We didnt win a lot of games with HCSS, and with an overaul of both sides of the ball, their are growing pains. I cant speak for everyone but i want to be entertained, i want to enjoy watching the games. But losing every week, especially ugly (looking at you Wake Forest) makes it SOOOOOO HARD.

We the die hards have heard the same thing for the past 15 years. Things will be different, new coach, so and so recruit is a game changer, new facilities, ACC affiliation etc you name it, we have used it as a belief as to why we will be a better football team. But it hasnt happened yet.

I guess thats why Dino preaches the belief without evidence. Clearly, there is no evidence.

The real problem is when the diehards attribute the previous 15 years of struggle to a guy who has coached 6 games.

There is evidence. Just not in the win column yet.

Yeah, that is the real problem!

I think you are equating frustration from diehards who are craving on-the-field performance with attribution to Babers. No. It's just the desire to see wins and more tangible progress. That's. It.

Sure, but 3 starting OL's and 2 starting DB's seems a bit high for any team.

It's actually down six including Trudo, Foy, and Robinson leaving last year.

They were already replacing three multi year starters, then they lose they other two guys that started the BC game, Palmer, who was by far the most experienced returning player, and Emerich. And then Conway, who was the game one starter this year.

doesnt every team have injuries tho? i hate that we keep using that excuse year in and out

Yes but we are down scholarship players and have a talent/depth issue.

So injuries hurt us more than others

Yes but we have been especially snakebit...I was listening to the Wake Radio broadcast at the stadium...they commented they have lost 2 guys this season but neither were OL/DL...compare that to Cuse who have lost a ton on the line...to include 3 DL from last year who should be here(Thompson, Ealey and Sheppard).

I think it's 4 on the DL if you include Carter.

Yep. People get this mixed up all of the time. "I'm just so tired of losing" turns into "this guy is just like Gerg" in a heartbeat.

Frustration with the program and frustration with the coach become interchangeable, when one has a long history here and the other has very little. It's pure garbage. Understandable? Yes. But garbage.

I have been thinking they are going to have to go this route for sure. There is no way they can upgrade the talent quickly with real frosh and the normal recruiting cycles. As we are seeing this year you can play them but they need a minimum one year in the strength and conditioning program to really contribute. With that said we have not had a lot of luck with JUCOs in recent history but maybe this staff can do a better job identifying diamonds in the rough. Under the circumstances, taking a page from Bill Snyder may not be such a bad thing.

I really don't sense a lot of building anti-Baberisyms. And if there are any evident, I tend to rule out posts within 24 hours of an ugly loss (especially night games with induced alcohol posts.)

I agree. But those posts start to linger longer the more we lose. I mean it's 6 games in and we have a "this is worse than Gerg" post.

I think we will be getting a lot of calls from WRs with grad transfer eligibility. That seems to work well.
