Watching sportscenter this morning and randomly hear Josh Pace's name. Look up and sure enough there he is. Some weird lead-in to the NBA playoffs talking about playing for the love of the game and how Josh was MVP of the ABA. Pretty cool, and even got a Syracuse mention in.

That 2005 senior class of Warrick/Pace/Forth has to be the classiest in SU history. Three gentlemen who represented the University extremely well (and won us a title in the process).

Indeed. I'm also having crazy déjà vu right now

Thought I should clarify that Josh was not on sportscenter in person, just a picture of him. Still cool though!

Josh is a true basketball vagabond. He has played in at least 2 of the 4 corners of the world (Finland and New Zealand). He has always been good and sometimes dominating in the various leagues he has played in. I wonder how much he has earned in his 10 year pro career? He doesn't seem to have played in any of the high paying foreign leagues, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that some of his paychecks have bounced over the years. But he has earned a living and seen the world as a professional basketball player. I think that's a pretty cool way to have spent your first decade out of school.

they just couldn't stop the lefty floater.

i'm trying to remember better but did josh sort of break out in that tournament or was he a bigger player in the regular season than i can recall?

Amen to that. So many people hate their jobs...making a living doing something you love is the name of the game.

If I remember right , when Billy came back, midseasonish, Josh even drifted into DNP-land. So he just started "making plays" and important ones, and his minutes rose, I believe at the expense of Kueth Duany.

One of my all time favorites too. JB said he was his most underrated player ever.

What is the ABA?

I'm not sure, but apparently they know how to pick up the Pace, so they've done right by me.
