He's a local hero of sorts. After all  he once stormed off the basketball court in a middle of a game to protest the NCAA putting any academic requirements whatsoever on recruits.
 
A lot of the show was throwing soft ball questions to "The Coach", who is a local hero for some DC residents. JT Jr would then expound on topic.
 
The guy is incredibly dumb. I mean really dumb. And he is vindictive. And he still smarts badly from every slight he ever experienced or imagined he experienced in life. Now he tried do describe this as "just asking questions". But the underlying premise of these rhetorical questions he was posing was easy to see.
 
So it may be hard to understand just what "the kiss goodby" comment meant. After all its coming out of the mouth of a very dumb person.
 
Maybe he was just trying to stay relevant. After all, given all the mileage he has gotten out of the "Manley Field House" quip, it might be a way to try and stay relevant as the "real" Big East breaths its last breaths.
