Had one catch early and I’m not sure he played any after that?

With Pena going down thought we would definitely see more of him?

Any insight on what’s going on here? He’s played great when giving the opportunity but those opportunities seem few and far between.

Our receiving corps is a a flat out mystery to me. If you would have told me Gill would go for 177 and JRS would have one catch I would have told you you’re crazy.

I saw McCord hestitate on a passing play and have to throw the ball away. He then went to JRS and appeared to yell at him for running the wrong pattern.

Didn’t see him play again after that. Pretty sure he has not learned the offense yet. That is a big problem.

Meeks lined up in the wrong place once and had to be corrected but that was after Peña got hurt and he was filling in at the slot, which is not where he normally plays. McCord got him in the right place.

I dont normally speak on players I have a personal relationship with but he's still on a pitch count due to his hamstring and calf issue. There is some timing and spacing disconnect as well. Thats due to not consistently playing with the unit all season.

You can see he does not look quite right running. Which is too bad since his limited catches have almost all gone for home runs.

Thank you for insight. Expected that was case. He still looks like he’s not running at 100 percent. Hoping we see his full skillset next year.

This is what I had been guessing. It's tough to hit the ground running even if you're 100%, and this play book is crafty at times.

Are theytrying to find what is hampering his hammy or did he pull it and cant get over it. I know sometimes tight hips lead to hamstring issues or are his butt and quads too strong for his ham. There has to be something going on there.

Emmanuel Ross is another who looked really good in his very limited minutes ( Pitt game). We have a plethora of talent at WR unlike we have ever seen here.

Exactly. This board (stereotyping here) seems to simply believes that there is “injured” and “healthy.” And nothing in between. But the reality is there are a seemingly infinite numbers of scales to bridge the gap. A guy playing 70% after missing weeks/months of practice time is different than a guy playing at 90% and missing 1-2 practices. It’s pretty obvioud JR-S is “not himself” this year. It’s remarkable that he helped us tip the scales to beat Virginia Tech. I’m pretty sure we will see him play at a different/elevated level next fall.

I think Mc Cord does a great job at identifying what the defense was giving him pre-snap. I think he saw that they were giving us Gill..

Gonna miss that type of experience next year.

And he absolutely exploited that over and over. Gill also made plays, some of those catches are ones Hatcher gives up on. He was consistent the whole game. Looked like a top WR yesterday.

Oh boy are we going to miss it. Let’s be honest and think about what our record would be without Kyle. I’m going maybe a 3-9 season.

You can tell he's not 100 percent. He was limping on his big catches in the Vtech game, there was a hitch in his stride. It's too bad, he'd be right up there with Meeks, OG and Pena if not for the injuries.

it depends who else we might have gotten.

Thinking about the quarterbacks we’ve had for the last 14 years , I actually think with Dungey, we are 9-2, because I don’t think we would’ve lost Stanford with his skill set of helping the running game that was not working that day.

Nassib was a pro quarterback, and we probably don’t do worse than 7-4 with him.

Schrader probably beats Stanford too and probably no worse than 7-4.

Devito, hard to say but with this OL vs what we had then, 6-5 at worst.

had we not gotten someone else of the portal, 3-9 might be right.

Yeah I was thinking about what we have on the team now.
