He is physically huge but from seeing him for the first time tonight, it appeared Sabonis was a far better player.

I don't know. He took his team further. It came down to UNCs 4 NBA bigs against the Zags 3 NBA bigs, and the heels won the battle of attrition.
He is Chris Kaman 2.0
He was an odd cat to watch. He seemed to make the right moves with his body/footwork around the basket, but had absolutely no touch to finish. Same against South Carolina.

This Gonzaga team has a lot more talent this year.
This math is funny. Jackson, Collins, Tillie. Not sure any other big makes into the first round if drafted at all. No place in today's NBA for Kaman. Combined with age Karnowski might latch on as a 3rd team center ala Boban......I don't know. He took his team further. He was off tonight, that's for sure. Zags had a shot to be up double digits at half if they could just hit open looks. Then the 2nd half turned into something that wasn't basketball. He's better than he looked tonight.

I thought he was really solid against South Carolina. UNC had big bodies who could body him up. His initial moves and footwork were good it seemed but then he would get himself into a worse predicament and/or not finish. He is absolutely terrific at keeping the ball high and not bringing it down to get stripped. Sabonis is better but this guy isn't that beer keg/kegerator dude from the old Big East.
That's how I feel about what happened last night. Karnowski / Collins are a tough matchup for most teams, and have dominated most matchups this year. The UNC bigs similarly are a tough matchup for most teams, and have dominated most matchups this year. Something had to give.
Maybe the UNC bigs were just more accustomed / comfortable to playing big, strong guys like that. They did just enough, whereas Karnowski just couldn't seem to get anything to drop. He probably hasn't faced too many guys like Meeks that he can't just overpower.
The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.beautiful plumage
