Keith Bulluck Charged with Robbery

I hate to say it, but reading what he actually did (allegedly) is a relief. Seems like an awfully minor thing, which I'd wager was alcohol induced.

He's been doing the mid day show on NFL radio. That's too bad, could cost him the gig.

Just watched Broke yesterday, 78% of former NFL players lose everything they own within a couple of years. Here is a list of 57 athletes who have gone bankrupt including our own Derrick Coleman

Kenny Anderson, Wally Backman, Charlie Batch, Bruse Berenyi, Riddick Bowe, Randy Brown, Mark Brunell, Bill Bucker, Jason Caffey, Dale Carter, Jack Clark, Raymond Clayborn, Derrick Coleman, Dermontti Dawson, Jim Dooley, Lenny Dykstra, Luther Elliss, Eddie Edwards, Chris Eubank, Rollie Fingers, Archie Griffin, Ray Guy, Tony Gwynn, Dorothy Hamill, Scott Harrison, Steve Howe, Harmon Killebrew, Bernie Kosar, Terry Long, Rick Mahorn, Harvey Martin, Deuce McAllister, Darren McCarthy, Denny McLain, Craig Morton, Greg Nettles, Jonny Neumann, Gaylord Perry, John Arne Riise, Andre Rison, Rumeal Robinson, Manny Sanguillen, Warren Sapp, Billy Sims, Leon Spinks, Sheryl Swoopes, Roscoe Tanner, Lawrence Taylor, Duane Thomas, Bryan Trottier, Mike Tyson, Johnny Unitas, Michael Vick, Antoine Walker, Danny White, Ray Williams, and Rick Wise.

Very sad situation indeed but was it bad planning or living to excess?

I suspect there are a lot of different circumstances there.

I suspect there are a lot of different circumstances there.

If you saw the 3o for 30 piece Kosar, McCant, Rison, Schilling etc tell how suddenly they find themselves supporting others besides themselves. At one time Kosar was paying for 60 different cell phones yet only using one for himself. They make poor investments, buy bling, try to out spend each other at clubs, buy multiple dwellings, cars, many of which they can't drive because they can't shift.

Hell Evander Hollyfield went belly up too and had his home here in the Atl foreclosed on.

I expect that applies to many, if not most, but not all.

It's understandable, he has 11 children by 9 different women. Support payments add up and with no $$$ incoming it doesn't take long before there is nothing left in the bank account.

I will never forget the day I moved into my apartment right off of Ackerman Ave, my friend was moving in and my gf and I were sitting at the table just hanging out watching him unpack and his father who was an old Army vet came in and said to him and I quote, "Best advice I can give you son is wrap your stump before you hump." and then proceeded to walk out to the van and head home. Maybe I should have given him Evander's phone number.

In addition they have crooked agents and "friends" who drain them dry. One had a financial advisor who was running a Ponzi scheme. If you Google each one of those listed I'm sure there are other causes. I just listed some of them. The injuries have left many of them with medical bills that exceed insurance coverage. The average time for an NFL player to last in the league is 3 1/2 years. When the music stops all the hanger's on jump off and never pay back loans. One player was paying 6 mortgages for friends and family he bought houses for.

A couple updates to the story -
1. The cab driver has pulled this same move before - sounds like it may have been Bulluck's money. http://www.wkrn.com/story/23249169/former-titan-keith-bulluck-arrested
2. KB announces all Titans pre-season games, looks like he's been suspended. https://twitter.com/jwyattsports/status/372102091986046976
Also of note: The bar he was arrested in front of was a gay bar in what's known as the gay bar district of Nashville. He could have just been going there with friends but it adds some additional interest to the story. KB is one of the most popular Titans in the team's history and covers the Titans both on TV and the radio in a pretty conservative market. There will be plenty more to hear from the case and I hope it all works out for Keith.

Charges were officially dropped. Keith was just on the main sports station in Nashville; he had multiple witnesses prepared for today including the cab driver's boss. The judge threw out the case because it's clear that the Cab driver lied about both the assault and the robbery. Bulluck said that he gave the cab driver $100 for a ride and then was told by the driver that he had another customer. KB grabbed the $100 bill back and was later arrested. Sucks for KB, he was doing the responsible thing and taking a cab home and got screwed over. At least he can move on now.
