Jamie Dixon and offensive efficiency is the only surprise on this list

Pitt is almost always an amazing offensive rebounding team, that really helps. The Mike Brey thing is pretty amazing, I know they generally have good offenses, but #3 over a long period of time, very impressive.

UNC scores. No surprise there.

Are you implying that UNC created its own kenpom category? :)

Points for having Roy and or Williams in your name.

This list is not a list of who did the best coaching job with the talent they had, or anything like that, it's just a straight up "who's teams did the best over this period of time". We've had at least 3 teams that were very, very mediocre during this time period: 2006, 2007, and 2014 and a few more that weren't especially strong either. If it's an average, these teams really drag us down.

A little surprised he's not top 10 in D, we've had a really good stretch of defensive efficiency from 09-10 up til now.

Yeah, but it was also just those years, and they weren't great. We've ranked top 10 in defense in a season one time in the last decade. We have ranked top 20 each of the last six, but usually it's been very good, but super elite. Self has ranked outside the top 10 twice in the last 10 years, and one of those was 11th. Now granted they were #1, but still.

2008 was pretty mediocre as well.

I think it's a testament to JB's coaching ability that even though his teams were not ranked highly in offense or defense, he still managed to find a way to win games.
This sheet is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate as I put it together quickly, but it does give one a general glimpse.. I didn't include vacated games for Cal, or JB.
