Womack is a perfect example.  He might not be NBA good, ever! Very few players are.  But if he redshirts, by the time he is a redshirt junior, he might be able to command millions in NIL.  Red throwing him out there for 60 minutes this season could literally cost him millions of dollars his redshirt senior year.

If you were a parent, knowing that your son has a choice of a few schools to go to, who are you going to choose?  The Coach who routinely damages his players ability to make money by blowing their redshirt year?  Or the guy who looks out for his players?

The redshirt isn't a huge thing all by itself, but it is a litmus test for how a coach respects his players and will look out for them.  I think it could make the difference in certain recruiting battles, and not just for guys like Womack, who have high potential, but aren't ready yet.
