Kermit Davis

- Just heard him on with Childers and Neuheisel on Sirius Ch. 84 about an hour ago. What a class guy. If I ever wanted a kid I would love to have him play for Kermit Davis.

- Really was complimentary to our team much like the presser. Felt that it wasn't really what they didn't do but how good we played.

- Again, thought Lydon was a lottery pick in a few years.

- He thinks we are beating Gonzaga. He felt our players are just as good as Michigan State's. Size of our guards could be a factor in this game as well. He said they were much bigger in person than on film. Mature players.

- Both he and Childers felt G is the best player in the Tournament nobody is talking about.

It happens more than we think. We (some of us) just get OCD with Gottlieb and others and focus on negativity. god forbid a criticism or two.

We got plenty of praise when we were good (and that INCLUDES Gottlieb...though no one will ever admit it) but it just feels like we've been left for.dead the last two years.

KD is a class act and a good Coach...In my time at MT I majored in Mass Comm ( and yes I couldn't get into SU...lol) and went into sports media...I did a lot of stuff on campus while in school for experience and KD was always helpful...Chris Childers on Sirius went to MT also, with me and is a very good friend...We did Rivals Radio together after we graduated...

I will say this about KD and kids playing for him...Takes a special kind of young player as KD is extremely demanding defensivly and with effort...He has a within bounds Bob Knight side and similar to what you hear about Coach K at Duke, what he potrays to the outside world and what hes like behind closed doors...KD will let the expletives fly and has a quick triggered temper...Watching games in the Boro my son and I joke his head will explode cause it gets so Red...Usually always over defensive lapses or Mental errors.

Although I am a Cuse fan through and through that MT game was very difficult for me...I did find myself cheering for the Orange...but very proud of MT my Alma Mater

I thought CBS should have hired Tony Scott to be sideline reporter for the SU-MTSU game -- the guy who helped put both coaches on probation.

Yeah Chris got "Big Time" a little bit in his personality...We talk more now than we had for few years..I'm happy he made it for our little group from MT...I got out of Media and went into Coaching HS hoops and teaching...If you ever call in his show tell him "Your longtime buddy from Syracuse said to tell you a AYG bigtime"...Thats our old MT broadcast crew

Ha. You got it. I can't listen to him all the time but I enjoy his passion for the college game. In general the guys on Sirius are a nice break and a breath of fresh air from the constant ESPN machine.
