I want to state how appreciative I am of your boneheaded-ness to not foul when you are down three, with 34 seconds left. I was sitting there that whole time wondering if I was looking at the score and time wrong. The most stupid part on his end, was the fact that they didn't even have a time out? Best case scenario- UCONN forces syracuse to shoot with five seconds left, the rebound finally gets corralled-that takes two more seconds... Leaving them with three seconds to go the full length of the floor to hit a three. High percentages there Mr. Ollie! Your team was shooting well from three the second half, Syracuse was 23-40 from the FT and that was his decision! Thank goodness!

In the meantime, what a freaking win. I was astonished at how good and impactful Lydon was in the middle of the zone. He was an animal. Rebounding, blocking shots, altering shots. Then not to mention how poised and skilled he is on the offensive end. I will take 2&10 from DC every game. He had some great rebounds.

Cooney is an absolute warrior. Screw anyone who says anything bad about him. He gives it his all every single night and did you see the emotion he had when we won the game? Kid wants to win and looks like a changed player this season. Silent G is a BEAST! If this team had Pikachu this year, they would be top 5 good. Could you imagine a lineup of Pikachu, Lydon, Roberson, Silent G and Cooney?!?! With Mali either coming off the bench or starting over Lydon. Lethal!

Lastly, I want to toot my own horn. Before this season started I said the lineup with Lydon as center will be Syracuses best and most used lineup and people on here thought I was crazy. To your guys defense, I had no clue that Lydon would be that effective in the middle. I still can't get over how effective he was in so many areas of the game tonight.

Let's hope they can keep it up for tomorrow and the rest of the year. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can everyone stay healthy and eligible :)

Even if we had missed, a smart player from Syracuse would just foul them as soon as they neared the mid court line, given the 3 point lead.

It was terrible game management.

Not quite as bad as your making it out to be because they were going to have to foul TC. He is not a 23-40 guy, his stroke is nice.
Looks like JB might feature TC in the old GMAC role of putting teams in a tough spot.

Actually your point makes Ollie's strategy even worse, in my view.

That is why you foul with 35 seconds left as soon as the ball is inbounded -- its not that easy to get the ball to your closer off the inbounds, and chances are you will send someone else to the line.

If you give a team time to set up after the ball has been inbounded, they are going to find a way to get to the ball to the FT Closer.

Agree. Pretty moronic decision by Ollie but WE ARE NOT COMPLAINING! A&M will be a dogfight. They're huge and will present a lot of problems rebounding wise. Boeheim said he thought they were as "physical as any team he has ever seen." Might be a classic JB over exaggeration, but the Orange will have their work cut out for them tomorrow.

I thought UConn would try to steal the ball in the backcourt then foul once we crossed halfcourt -- that would have gave theym about 25 secondsm to work with. No idea what Ollie was doing
