yes, more and more doctors are advising to get out of bed after surgery and move around.

I'm no Louisville fan by any means, but this was one of the most gruesome sports injuries I have ever seen. Glad to see his surgery went "well" [whatever that means], and that Ware is on the road to recovery.

I still cringe thinking about seeing it in real time during yesterday's game...

Ive heard this a few times. Did Bush really have a 6 inch bone sticking out of his leg at some point? I dont remember this at all.

Looks like no cast yet either. Do they do that so they can tend to the open wound? They must put that in something to provide more stabilization than just the wraps. Right?

I believe they need access for a few days to monitor against infection, and treat if any shows up

no its my understanding this means they were able to close the wound, which is a good sign.

Sounds like it wasn't a compound fracture, but otherwise very similar.
