This talk of Jimmy to the 5 with Symir starting is absolutely ridiculous. Frank needs to start at the 5. I don't believe that Frank needs to bring Edwards' blocking prowess to the table. I believe his most impactful contribution will be his rebounding and being able to stop the baseline lurker from exploiting him, i.e. getting behind him and receiving alley oops, or easy passes for buckets from the foul-line-area guy.

Those two areas of need from him, if addressed and successful, will keep us on this winning path, so long as we continue seeing Swider and Joe with their recent great play.

He's at roughly the same place this year as Jesse was last year with a different skill set.

Rebounds, blocks, set good screens, and get back on defense. Love the way he gets into it on the offensive glass, but sometimes he’s late getting back because he’s mixing it up on the other end.

Frank plays with confidence and force. It’ll pay dividends for him to now have a longer leash. Thats one positive.

Obviously he’s not as developed as Jesse. But we need someone who draws defenders down low and draws fouls.

Thats something Frank can do.

This team was never defensively sound, with Jesse or not. We win by scoring.

That’s not true. Jesse showed offensive flashes very early on. Frank hasn’t.
As I said he has a different skill set. If I recall correctly, last year Jesse had a problem with his strength down low, losing the ball and not finishing that well. Frank is very strong and has strong hands and a huge vertical and he finishes with authority. He is not as long as Jesse, but he's faster on defense. He has gotten about as much game time as Jesse got last year up to this point of the season. Jesse had a big bounce at the end of last year, frank can do the same.

Agree... I think we have to also look at getting JBA some time at the 5, worst case it's five fouls, but he has some length/height. Frank reminds me of T-Rob, not sure his offensive game will ever be outside of 5 feet of the rim, but he's aggressive and athletic which is a good something to work with. Beefy bigs will give us a problem even more because Frank doesn't have Jesse's height/length.

Jesse should have been played more last year. In any event, I hate to see Jesse out, but am excited to see Frank get extended minutes without the fear of a quick pull. Although, that could still happen as we know Boeheim isn't scared in moving his son to the 5. The more players playing out of position, the better!

Boeheim said Frank will start, then talked about Sidibe, and then JBA. When someone mentioned Jimmy, he seemed to dismiss it.

I must say I am now looking at the rest of our games with academic interest, hoping players like Frank and Benny can improve themselves in anticipation of next year. Jesse gave me some hope for this year, which might have been dashed anyway.

With Covid, I have learned to put things in perspective. I would have preferred not to have this lesson.

Offensively speaking I really hope Buddy and JG3 have been working their @sses off w Frank on the high screen, drop down to basket for the dump pass play where Jesse would come up to set the screen and then turn around for the easy assist from the guard. They need to try and replicate that with Frank. I'm anxious to see if they try that with him tonight in offensive sets. Aside from easy offensive rebound-putbacks, this is how Frank can contribute offensively.

That screenplay takes a lot of time and practice to get it to work. It looked like Joe and Jesse had a real feel for when to spring the release and how to set the defenders up. A lot of split second timing involved.

We do not know what we can get from Sid. Frank is raw on D. He will be in foul trouble. We will need Sid.

I agree and like I said I just hope that they at least work on it to the point where it's an option. I failed to say that Frank has been the recipient of some great assists for dunks from our guards. If he positions himself well near the basket and our guards effectively penetrate and draw his defender, Frank has done a decent job of receiving that pass and aggressively finishing with dunks. Having an aggressive center who dunks when he needs to has been an annual issue here as we all know. I think Frank bucks that trend a bit.

Who is going to get Jesse’s 6-7 shots per game? I don’t see us running plays for Frank. I would hope Cole or JG3 as opposed to even more for the brothers, but we shall see.

That's the play I see Frank dominating. Back his man deep to the hole and receive the pass and spin right or left and explode up for the dunk. He is so explosive, a lot of bigs won't be able to react fast enough, but he has to be able to go both left and right for it to be super effective.

And Frank is a very good free throw shooter too. If he can draw fouls and get to the line, that would be a huge net+.

Like the thought, but entry passes to the blocks are tricky. Have any of the other guys even tried any?

One of the great things about Jesse is that he makes the dish from Joe look so effortless. He is able to receive the ball and gracefully glide to the basket while making up so much ground in the process. I don't see Frank being able to do that, at least right now in his development. Frank will likely have to be much closer to the basket when receiving the ball makes the play more difficult to execute. That said, I'm with you guys, I sure hope they try. Maybe with more minutes, Frank will show more of his game.

He has gotten about as much game time as Jesse got last year up to this point of the season.

This is a patently false statement. Jesse had 47 total minutes played up to this point last season. Frank has FIVE TIMES AS MANY minutes (237) this year up to the same point.

You know that they keep these things called statistics, and that there is this thing called google (or any other number of search engines) that you can use look stuff up instead of just making up nonsense like you always do, right?

I'm excited to see what Frank can do. He's been progressing nicely this year.
