[QUOTE="DomeHolmes, post: 5180514, member: 10113"] I will preface by saying I am a KJE fan. I think he played as good he, or anyone anyone else could have, in the 3 sack opportunities he had. I am extremely hesitant to even post this because of the way a few people responded towards some posters observations of the sacks, (again, their observations, not criticisms of KJE). sometimes in real speed things look different, and you only see the result Of the play. If you slow things down and see what really happened often times it looks much different. I posted earlier that I thought he was in the right place at the right time. Sack number one, the tight end chips on him and then goes out to block for a screen pass. Our secondary sniffs it out, has both the tight end and the running back covered. The quarterback looks up and sees this and with no Plan B, just eats the ball. KJE was given a free run at the quarterback, who did not try to evade. Sack number two, KJE comes off the edge totally unblocked. It was a blocking assignment error by Holy Cross. What KJE did a great job of here (and what probably some of our other defensive ends would not have done) is he slowed down, broke down, and made sure the quarterback could not evade contain, (which happens all the time on plays like this). Great job here but he had a free run. third sack, quarterback is running to the right and number 28 gets into the backfield first. Quarterback changes direction and runs right into KJE. I believe Watson was the third player there. Any of the three could’ve gotten that sack, the quarterback just chose to change direction and run right into KJE rather than Watson or 28. A very nice play, but nothing special. so again, I love KJE, I love KJE, I love KJE, Just validating what a few other posters said about the sacks. Based on his speed and his demonstrated ability to break down and play under control, (in this small sample size), he would be the guy I would want in on third and long. Again, (not that he’s not capable of it), but I did not see any swims, rips, speed rushes, or spins. As far as bull rushing, he did a nice job getting into the offensive lineman, eyes in the backfield, and did not get too far up field and always kept himself in the play, which not all of our ends consistently do.
