Knicks fans: Would You Trade...

In the interest of intelligent discussion as opposed to NBA.com or knicksblog comments/forums
there have been rumors of the knicks showing serious interest in Dwight Howard, because lets face ti, every team has serious interest in Dwight Howard and wouldn't be doing there due dilligence to at least pick up the phone and see whats up. I do not know how salaries mesh up but lets just say for the interest of discussion the following trades work salary cap wise

Would you make either or any of the following trades

Amare and Chandler for Howard and Turkoglu (The most realistic scenario)

Amare, Lin, Chandler for Howard, Hedo, and Nelson

Amare, Lin for Howard

or any other combination


to me, putting all emotional attachment for Amare bringing the franchise back last year, It begs serious discussion to trade him and Chandler for Hedo and Howard.

As a pair Howard trumps Chandler (even though I love Chandlers game)
and Amare (when healthy and in stride) trumps Hedo

You have to think that is as good an offer as the Magic will see and that would give the knicks Howard and a stretch 4 who can shoot, along with Melo, Lin , J.r Smith and Davis, and if Howard doesn't sign an in season extension, you might be able to convince him to take less and have D Will join next year.

How about heresy ? I think Tyson Chandler is much more what the Knicks need. If they make any "big" deal, I would trade Melo for an elite 2 guard and a back up center. Don't ask me who, but I think most of what's wrong with the Knicks lays at Melo's feet.

the knicks have nothing on their roster that the magic would entertain for howard. Amare is a couple seasons from total knee replacement...carmelo actually makes the knicks worse (did last year ...did when he came back this year).

for the magic to trade howard, they will require at least one bonafide, younger type star and a couple picks.

If I could unload Amare I would. Very likable player, but I agree with whomever mentioned his knees - if I could bait, I would. Not sure what to do with Melo - he needs to spend the next offseason getting in shape. Out of shape Carmelo is Big Dog Robinson.
