Where did I say that Marrone specifically left the Bills to take a consulting job?  Nobody in coaching is "toxic" if they can prove to build a winner from garbage and he can do that.

As far as taking assistants, when I take a new job I look to be successful in that role and do whatever it takes from a personnel standpoint.  I rarely worry about the feelings of my previous job, especially when I know that I am not going back to that role.  I would take the people I trusted, was comfortable with and knew that could do the job.  Regardless of what fans or anyone else thought.

What makes you think that those guys wanted to stay after Marrone left?  What makes you think those guys weren't already looking for jobs?  Maybe Shafer was going to replace some of them regardless?  He always promised his buddies that he would hire them if he got a HC gig.

Point is, you don't know anything for certain.

Secondly - He is not with SU any longer, he is also not with the Bills any longer.  Move on.

Besides, you now have the tremendous coaching ability of Rex Ryan to look forward to. Get ready for 100 yards of total offense and losing scores of 7-3, 10-6, etc.  I would take Marrone over that clown any day too, Good Luck.
