Since this is the time of year to be an raging optimist... I'll make a predicition. Even after watching a year in which I though he would make more significant strides in his game, I predict KJ senior will have a Melo-lite year.
His line from last year:
MPG FG-FGA Pct 3FG-FGA Pct FT-FTA Pct Off Def Tot Avg PF FO A TO Blk Stl Pts Avg
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
32.4 156-342 .456 45-123 .366 128-180 .711 38 140 178 5.2 63 2 74 73 22 51 485 14.3
The Melo-lite numbers would be 17.5 ppg/8 rpg/3 apg with 37% from 3 and 50% overall accounting for an approximate 25% yoy increase. He would end up a bit more efficient than Melo however much less dominant. Especially because we all know Melo got his points or boards at any time he decided to. With that said, this is what I think (hope?) KJ can and will bring to the table his senior year.
We will have 14 points and 10 rebounds per game to replace in the front court and I believe KJ will be taking it upon himself to be sure our younger Orange are not held primarily responsible for filling the void.
He and Melo Jr will be the keys to this season I believe. Jeez I cant wait!
