We are likely running into Duke / Indiana or Gonzaga in the sweet 16. That final #1 seed is likely Louisville or Georgetown and we can't face them.
There is only way to stop it. Win the BET, and hope for a 3 seed... or Kansas as that #1 (because you beat the other two)

I agree. You would need a committee to totally disregard the "Body of Work" criteria, and overemphasize that 8-4 top 100 record. I still think they will get some support,

No way that happens unless we win the BET. Not even the slightest freaking chance. Without a BE title the best we can hope for is a 4.

Not going to happen. Michigan is the 3 in Auburn Hills in cement. Wish is werent the case but it is. Sparty will probably be the 2 in AH as well.

I think the discussion between Michigan and Syracuse would be very close if we won the BET. Pick em.
Michigan is still 8-6 vs top 50, and did get some nice neutral wins OOC in Kansas St and Pitt (and away wins at Minny and Illinois). We would be 7-7, but our road/neutral package of wins would be better (Louisville *2, GTown, Pitt, San Diego St). Michigan is in the more reputable conference (potential bias factor)
If we want the 3 we also need to watch out for Kansas St. If they win the Big 12, they probably get that 3 before us. Kansas St only has 6 losses, and not one outside the top 50.

KState, New Mexico, Sparty/OSU, Florida and Michigan will probably be your 3 seeds. I dont see us getting that 3 seed even if we win out. Especially if KState, NM, OSU or Sparty and Florida win out.

The 3 seed sounded good as a possibility yesterday, but as we see what is unfolding we have yet to get any real help at all this week. Michigan needed a really bad loss and avoided it yesterday... Miami avoided that bad loss.
New Mexico losing could create a spot, but one of KState/OSU will get a chance to knock out Kansas as well.
New Mexico will have a hard time winning the MWC. That's 4 solid teams in their semi's/

I don't think Michigan loses the 3 seed even with the loss today. They will have them playing close to home. Also, I think Miami would have to win the ACC Tournament to be even considered for a 1 and I dont think even then it will happen. Gonzaga is locked for one. Indiana is locked for one as the winner of the "toughest conference", Duke is locked for one cuz its Duke, and I think Louisville or Gtown gets one if they win the BET. If they don't Kansas is next in line.
