Kansas is going to get a #1 seed. I called it earlier in the week and am sticking to it.

Also, I found it funny that Brandon Dawson apparently broke his hand listening to the ESPN broadcast of his game against Michigan State and Dan Dakich saying Dawson has to play better for Michigan State to win the NC and he punched something out of frustration and broke his hand.
"We were also watching some TV clippings from videos from the Indiana game of [ESPN analyst] Dan Dakich saying that the key to our winning the national championship is going to come up to me and my intensity. I kind of got frustrated with how I've been playing and how I know I can play. I kind of got frustrated and I slammed my hand against the table out of frustration."Is that what happened? I knew he broke it hitting a table but wasn't realized it was from that comment. That's funny. I guess he never heard the Kevin Brown story.
How can Wichita St be a 1 seed? Didn't think they had anywhere near that strong a resume.
So we would play the winner of OSU and Baylor on Saturday. That's just great because that's the day I'm going to miss the games in Buffalo due to having to go to a wedding between two OSU grads in Cleveland. I hope we win by 50. Plus to make it sweeter I'm going hopefully sell my tickets for double and make sure it's to OSU fans who can watch their team get creamed.

Kansas already won @Oklahoma, @Iowa State they only have tough road games left @Texas, @K-State, @Oklahoma State, @Baylor. Kansas isn't losing at the Phog to anybody IMO. They will roll WVU, Texas Tech, TCU, and if they go 2-2 in those 4 road games they will be a 1 seed with their non-conference schedule and 6 losses before the conference tournament.I expected the Big 12 champion to get a #1 seed before January. There were two many quality teams entering the Big 12, that the best was going to build up a great resume. I thought it may be Iowa St instead of Kansas, but Kansas has the clear edge now. Kansas with 7 losses is a clear #1 seed.
he has a potential matchup with Duke in the sweet 16 . . . that could conceivably be the 4th matchup of the season between the game's two winningest coaches, who had previously only met twice in their entire careers.
and all 4 would be in different buildings!
He is wrong about one thing. The committee will have conference opponents in the sweet 16, but they will only do it if the teams have met 1 time in the regular season. They won't put SU and Duke in the same bracket because they will have played 2 times. The top 3 teams in different brackets as Jerry Palm said on twitter only applies if they are top 4 seeds. He may be wrong, but I agree with you typically Palm does a better job, but these brackets will change a lot before March.I really doubt we would play Duke or an ACC team in the sweet 16. To be honest. I am not sure what Palm is doing. Does the committee have new standards this year that they have never had before?
1) He claims the top 3 teams from each conference do not need to be in different brackets. This has always been the case, and there was no exceptions in 2010-2013 bracket.
2) While the rule making conference teams not being able to play until the round of 8, was changed around 2006, it has still followed the rule completely, with the exception of when the Big East had 9 teams or more, and I believe in one instance where there was a play in team in the 11 or 12 line.
Clearly the committee has spoken and made it clear that unless your conference has 9 teams or more, you are not meeting unuil the elite 8. I like Palm's seeding but his bracketing leaves to be desired, or he knows new rules that have not really been communicated yet.
North Carolina is not going to get in!! Kentucky a 6 seed?

I think the 4th 1 seed will come from Iowa and Michigan State. Michigan State if they are healthy would be the obvious team, but no Brendan Dawson for 4-5 weeks means he will be back for the conference tournament and Iowa lost to Villanova and Iowa State if they had one of those 2 I would think they would have a chance.
I believe in the end we are going to see these 12 teams on the top 3 lines. Arizona-Syracuse-Kansas-Michigan State-Florida-San Diego State-Wichita State-Iowa-Kentucky-Wisconsin-Oklahoma State-Villanova.

No Georgetown, UCONN or Marquette? Oh, Duke and Villanova. There we go. I'm surprised Pitt is not in our bracket too!
If the top 3 teams from a conference are within seed lines #1-4 they cannot be in the same region. He is putting Duke as a #5 seed so he can put them in opposite SU in the same region. IMO Duke will rise to a #3 or #4 seed later in the season so I wouldn't worry about it. In fact both Pitt and Duke will be no lower than #4's in my crystal ball.He is wrong about one thing. yeah, I think Duke is going to be dangerous. Their offense is already very good; if their D improves incrementally over the next six weeks, then they will become a legit contender. If the top 3 teams from a conference are within seed lines #1-4 they cannot be in the same region.
