So the PS had this tape in 2002 as well, as part of their probe? I don't quite get why neither they nor ESPN ran with this. And Bernie must have known of the tape if Laurie was confronted about it. Geez

Even if he clipped together the tapes it's still pretty horrible. I don't know what context saying she knew everything going on, that Bernie is in denial/has problems, and that she thinks there were other is helpful to Bernie's cause.

I agree. I mean some of it you could understand, like the part about him not being into her anymore (maybe she thought he was gay), or about her saying he thinks he's above the law (could've just been speaking theoretically to think he has a big ego). But a lot of the other statements, I don't see what context they could be in to not implicate Bernie here.

Gets weirder and weirder. But the fascinating part here is that the PS definitely had the tape. Definitely talked to her about it. Those are some huge facts there because they still felt the story wasn't credible enough to run. As did ESPN. Nothing has changed with respect to this tape or anything on it since 2003...

The hardest part of the Davis story for me to believe before this tape was that BF's wife would be fine with her husband sleeping with a ballboy in the basement almost every night, regardless of what she thought or knew might be happening...well that part is pretty easy to believe now.

I would normally be incredibly sympathetic to people in the Fine's situation. A gay man Bernie's age involved in sports pretty much had to get married and have kids. Even now a men's coach in 99% of situations would have to stay closeted. So I can see her having somewhat of a cavalier attitude toward Bernie's sexuality if that was something they both came to terms with. The idea that she was so nonchalant about his P e d o p h I l I ais mind blowing.
