What is everyone feeling on this week vs ND? It’s at ND which don’t think we have had much success there. It’s also ND whole only got over them last year. Can we pull another rabbit out of hat n knock off a #1 team in country ? Or like our other top 5 matchups do we come out flat n mistake driven n can’t make the uphill battle ?

I think we can beat them. I didn't think they played all that well last week against Duke. Announcers kept saying they don't like it when it's chaotic. Need to bring a little of the chaos that Colgate showed us.

Also think we have to attack them starting at X. Prob have be anyone n all other then joey. Prob should see joey be inside more n make lyght part of the slide package. But either way our boys are gonna have to play n hustle their butts off. Gotta be smart n get into their goalies head early. As he was very good last week.

I noticed that in the Colgate game Michael Leo played a lot at X. I don't recall him doing that much before. Maybe that was prep for the ND game.

Colgate does a lot of weird things with their defense. They play semi zone and often purposefully let guys get hung up behind the goal. They are also quick to double team in dodges from up top. ND defense is the complete opposite. They keep slides to a minimum and never go zone. Would not read into much of anything from the Colgate game.

This ^, Gate is really an outlier when it comes to how they play defense. It's a very feast or famine defense. They got SU a few times by purposefully letting Joey and then I think Leo get hung up and we just ran the clock down looking for a pass and then had to scramble late. In other instances we got great looks initiating from behind or when caught up that led to goals. It's an odd strategy to be honest especially against a team like SU.

ND will be as you noted essentially the exact opposite. They will certainly cover from behind X and will be slow to slide especially against Lyght and other poles. SU last year moved Joey around a lot and I anticipate we will see that again along with SU inverting middies again.
