The Syracuse senior has stood in Cummings' shadow since they were freshmen. For the past two seasons, Treanor remained a Tewaaraton finalist while her Team USA teammate hoisted the trophy.

But 2016 could be the year that she poses a tougher challenge for Cummings to three-peat – with the sole reason being Treanor is now a draw specialist. She took over the reins after Kailah Kempney graduated and now leads the Orange with a whopping 104 draw controls, which ranks second in Division I with an average of 9.45 per game. Cummings is 13th with 5.13 per game.

And yet, Treanor still remains one of the most lethal attackers with her crease play and behind-the-back goals of the highlight-reel variety. Her 29 goals sit at the top of the Syracuse stat sheet, as do her 18 assists, the latter tying Halle Majorana.

While Syracuse struggled against Maryland, Florida and Boston College, Treanor has led the way in each of its 12 games. In its 12-11 upset of Notre Dame, she tied for a team-high four points with freshman Nicole Levy, who could be the next Kayla Treanor with their near-identical shooting styles and sidearm antics.

Syracuse is on the hunt for its first NCAA title, and if there's a year to win it, it could likely happen before Treanor graduates.[/I]
