Zion Grady has had a busy January after transferring from Charles Henderson High School to Enterprise High School and then decommitting from the University of Alabama. Grady is a four-star edge rusher and is considered one of the top rated high school prospects in the country. He has won The Messenger’s All-Messenger Defensive Player of the Year two years in a row and also won the ASWA 5A Lineman of the Year last season and is a finalist for the award again this season. At Charles Henderson last season, Grady compiled 87 tackles, 24 tackles-for-loss, 11 sacks, 22 quarterback hurries and an interception return for a touchdown for the Trojans. Grady will play his senior season at nearby Class 7A Enterprise High School, coached by former Troy Trojan Ben Blackmon.

HC Fran Brown said he wasn't backing away from any kid no matter how highly rated the recuit is. He has been there many times and not going to change it up any. Go Orange and HCFB

I remember this story about Shafer. It was told by Rex Culpepper and I read it somewhere. SS was at Plant High in Tampa, a Florida powerhouse, recruiting. Rex, at Plant, had offers from Florida, Clemson and Ohio St. among others. SS apparently did not feel he had a chance so he didn't recruit Rex. Rex, who I think was interested in Newhouse, had to ask Shafer to recruit him. This always blew my mind, that he would ignore a blue chip because of other schools recruiting or offering.
