Least Favorable Schedule: Syracuse

A guy on there just said Temple will win the conference and go 11-2...they only have eleven games scheduled :noidea:

Maybe counting their BCS bowl game... which would be impressive since they've never won more than 9 games (including bowl games) in the MAC.

Well with a bowl game they only have 12 as of right now, so someone didn't learn how to count too well haha

Yep. Doesn't matter though they'd need to schedule about 18 games if they plan on winning 11.

Temple is a solid football team.

I have seen them play - they gave Penn State all it could handle and whipped Maryland at MD.

Solid? yes. 11 win in a BCS conference? No

Penn State couldn't score on anyone last year and Maryland went 2-10. Toledo was their toughest opponent last year and that didn't go so well for the Owls.

I did not suggest that Temple is a top ten team, but it would be a mistake to take the Owls lightly - they are a good group of athletes.

Temple certainly can, and very possibly may, beat us. They're not the same program on the field that they were during their first tour in the Big East. Still nowhere near a hostile environment, but just a more even playing field of football players than we would remember (those of us who remember the original BE football conference).

As to the original CBS comment. When talking about the Big East, least favorable actually means most interesting. So we have that going for us.

Temple has nearly the perfect schedule:

TEMPLE

Fri., Aug. 31 - Villanova
Sat., Sept. 8 - Maryland
Sat., Sept. 22 - at Penn State
Sat., Oct. 6 - USF
Sat., Oct. 13 - at CONNECTICUT
Sat., Oct. 20 - RUTGERS
Sat., Oct. 27 - at PITTSBURGH
Sat., Nov. 3 - at LOUISVILLE
Sat., Nov. 10 - CINCINNATI
Sat., Nov. 17 - at Army
Fri., Nov. 23 - SYRACUSE

They open against a 1AA Nova -- Guess there is no bad blood between 'Nova and Temple.

The farthest non-conference game is still in-state PSU (190 Miles).

They play Army, Maryland and PSU out of Conference. (Granted, they have one Non-conf game yet to be scheduled.

They have an off week before conference play begins.

They open conference play at home, and the finish conference play at home on Thanksgiving weekend.

Their home and away games are pretty evenly distributed.

What the hell are we doing wrong. Let's hire their football scheduler guy.
