But as for guards, we don’t have a “get to the rim guy”.  And we don’t have a “shoot off the screen/curl guy”.   We had so many good ones in Gerry, Andy, Buddy, JG3.   We have shooters on this team, but not that kind of shooter.   They didnt need the “good looks” JJ and Bell need.   The guards are helped by the fact that Lumpkin is a good passer AND can finish in the paint.  Without him at center, our guards would look even less effective.

i’m not sure the harsh criticisms of Reds coaching are fair.  (I think he lets lazy or bonehead play slide too much, but I’m not calling for his head either). His job assembling the team might be a legit criticism.   But if you don’t have a point guard and you don’t have an obvious leader, it’s not easy to overcome that with x‘s and o’s.   I’m not giving up on Carlos, but I would’ve taken The kid from Lemoyne and especially Cox from Colgate over him.

Judah could’ve made a lot more staying here one more year.
