KSU's average starting field position was their own 40 and our punter averaged a whopping 31 yards a kick ... our defense was constantly put in bad situations that season and held on ... in conference against a really good WVU team, a solid USF team and a pretty good Cincy team the defense was outstanding.  I am beginning to think it pains people on this board to give Shafer credit for anything.  They allow Franklin to only throw for about 200 yds and hold Beckham-Green to only 2 catches against Mizzou and they get a C ... really?  And as for NW you do realize they held them to 337 yards of offense right ... the O turned it over 3 times and they allowed NW to score on a fumble return ... that also the PF call that even gave NW a chance to win at the end ... the defense has been playing with their backs against the wall for 4 years now.  Only twice did NW move the ball on a drive more than 39 yards ... please honestly you can do better than this.
