tape of Aaron Rodgers for Dungey to learn from

Eric already has shown the ability to makes plays and throw from all sorts of angles and release points, that's grad level stuff he's doing by instinct

He should watch how how Rodgers uses his agility to extend plays in the pocket without looking to tucking and running

Lesters job is to not lose the special stuff but improve the fundamentals so that execution is more routine and every play doesn't have to be an adventure

Lester should stop blaming Dungey for all the issues the last two weeks. Take some responsibility as the OC.

He does. He says all the time "we talk about x, but we'll keep working on it until he gets it"... He also had said he needs to be more aggressive in his play calling, put the players in position to succeed, yadda yadda.

You could make the case that he should cover for him more and not say it to the media. But I get the feeling Eric is harder in himself than Lester is.

They both need to do their jobs well to succeed.

It can all stay in private. It makes it sounds like everything is Dungey's fault. He's carrying the offense and without him, SU is looking at 1-5 right now.

The o-line has underwhelmed since the URI game. No need to call him out in the media. It's BS.

I feel like Dungey's more Tannehill than Rogers.

So right! Who's the coach and who's the freshman!?!

I would take Tannehill in a heartbeat. 62% completion percentage, 42 TD, 21 INT in two years.

Oh yeah, he caught 112 passes for 1,596 yards and 10 TD as a WR.

Regardless, Dungey is good. Agree that Lester needs to do better with the talent he has to work with at the most important position in football.

I appreciate the candor. Dungeys not hearing it first through the media. And Lester might have asked him, who knows?

In addition to saying he missed a few reads, he also said he went from reading run 40% to 85% or something. So it's not all bad.

In the spring everyone complains about the closed practices and now it's too much info?

Look again at the TD to Estime against Wake and the OT throw to SI.

The throw to Estime was wrong back footed shoulders parallel to the LOS 40 yd wrist flick off a scramble. The TD to SI he dropped his release and was as spotted to the corner as the throw Rodgers made this week that was raved about.

I don't watch enough Miami to make a comparison.

While it sounds like he's blaming Dungey, he is only saying he needs more experience to make the right decisions. Hardly a catastrophic flame on him when a good deal of the fanbase thinks Dungey may be the second coming. They are doing damage control on the perception of the coaching which is what they need right now. They are trying to defend themselves as coaches. They can't completely lose the faith of the fanbase regarding their schemes and abilities to do their job. It would result in their tenure being over on the hill. I'm betting Dungey of all people doesn't want that and is completely fine with what has been said.

tannehill will be 32 and people will still be waiting for him to be what they think he should be

his entire career in college was like dungey's worst game against USF

Did Dungey call out a practice squad player for taking home a practice squad paycheck for intercepting him in practice?

I don't want individual players called out by coaches making six figures. Daoust did it perfectly two weeks ago- "we" not "he", you can give info without placing blame on a single player, especially when Dungey can't motion in extra blockers.

Just get the ball to Irv and Estime. Those two can make some plays more than anybody else. It has been brought up many times how UVA got the ball to Sizzle when it mattered. Those two can make plays. Fredericks and Ishmael not as much, imo.

Yeah - wish he wouldn't.

But I have a feeling Lester knows this kid pretty well. If he thought it would hinder his development I don't think he'd do it. I think he's just being honest.

then Dungey is going #1 overall, because tannehills entire college career was about year and half.

of course he could always switch back to WR and probably have an Ed McCaffrey type career.

which would be better than what the Bills last 2 #1 picks likelyl projects to...Watkins and Watkins.

actually, i hope he goes to WR...and gets traded to the Giants...

it's nuts to predict anything but I like his chances of getting drafted high. i already like him better than a ton of top 10 picks.

gabbert, locker, sanchez, tannehill

Well, yes, but if I can be honest Jake Locker, he sucks.

we'll see.

tannehill threw 531 passes as a Sr, it might take Dungey his whole career to tie that mark.

At that current time all those guys were college STUD QBs. Are we really liking Dungey now better than how those guys performed??! Not to mention they all had quite a few starts under their belt. If so then I think that logic is quite bizarre and asinine.

I think Dungey will go no later than the second round if he stays healthy. He is the best true freshman qb I have seen at Syracuse and I am sadly, old.
