That’s what we need . Hackette is the best blocker in the ACC and when he gets the pity he catches everything
Tucker 2 100 yard Games . Garrett Williams can play .
 
The offense got itself into a bunch of good down and distance places last week and just didnt convert enough.. 3-4th and 1-2 should not be so hard to convert.
 
We have run the ball well the last three games. Right when it seems like our O was about to look normal our QB gets hurt. Can't buy a break this year.

Good post.

Nolan Cooney is quietly averaging 46.91 yards per punt. That ranks him 7th in the country in punting.
For comparison purposes, Sterling, who is playing in the NFL now, averaged 43.86 last season.

Nykeim Johnson is 6th in the country in punt returns.

The Syracuse defense is 3rd in the country in interceptions and defensive TDs scored and 2nd in recovered fumbles. Mile Jones leads the country in interceptions with 3.

Taj is 14th in the country is receiving yards and 23rd in receiving yards/game.

Like the positivity. Now as far as stopping the run, I remain hopeful for a big effort this week, but also looking for a little divine intervention.

I was just looking at Taj's numbers and was a little surprised how close he is to exceeding his yardage total from last year. Impressive, hopefully he stays composed on the field and can be a bit more mature.
 
I will talk positive and this will probably be zapped by admins, but I’m about to shoot this entire damn board straight..

Dino is not only the best we can get, he’s the only guy who can deliver given the shortcomings a coach at SU is saddledwith. Those calling for his ouster are just dumb. We have been at a lack for talent that isn’t easy to overcome in the age of the millennial. The world has changed. We want to compete for an ACC championship preseason? You need 2+ 9 win seasons in a row and then you’re on your way. Wake the hell up.

Devito is the most talented QB on the hill since McNabb. Dungey had a lot of heart and will always be highly regardedin our hearts. The kid left his best on the field, everytime he showed up. Devito hasn’t given us that yet, but if he can mature into it, the kid will get us those 9+ win seasons back-2-back. I played college football and the kid hasan NFL arm, but needs to get his confidence up and at the same time, let the game slow down in his brain.

Harris can go to hell.Talented kid that is going to get a real world wake up very shortly. I’d hire the dumbest of SU football players out of support for the team, but I’d literally hire this douche just to fire his immature ass.

Im really disappointed in this board, so I find it hard to post anymore. This fanbase has turned very similar to the Rutgers fanbase and I’m disappointed to be associated at times. We have two née coordinators, with no spring or fall ball, a FB playing starting guard and our best offensive player and defensive player on the shelf and people are clamoring for our coaches head, just a full season removed from 10 wins? I expect more out of US. Pull your god damn head out of your asses and reality check yourselves.

Since the beginning of the year Queeley has been open on the few deep tries we have overthrown.. I also like his attitude.. I am ready to make him the #1 guy

Inside, Bear is a good player, Harper spells him. What I don’t know is how much of it is scheme related and players learning the new system, missed assignments etc, LBs doing their job. Not sure yet if it’s new scheme or talent. Young backers for sure are making mistakes.

I’m far from an expert on this stuff but it just seems like they’re getting blown off the ball. And the young LBs and safeties have more ground to cover. In the Duke game, over and over they would pull guards and tackles who were never disrupted as they sought out someone in the back 7 to destroy.

From one of the player interviews (Josh Black?) it seemed like they were guessing one way or the other. If they were wrong it might explain the 20 foot hole that the RB would run thru.

I hope they can improve but I’m not expecting it to show thru this weekend unless Clemson is literally sleepwalking. Even then.

I see the run fits happening very slowly. LB's are raw. DL also needs to penetrate and blow up gaps more to keep the LB's clean. We're a bit too small and slow up front.

I think that’s more a function of the 3-3-5. The plays are coming from other guys.
 
Let me remind everyone ...this is a positive thread. Plenty of other threads to talk about shortcomings.

Dino is still a beautiful man, is well-spoken, and is a good ambassador for this program.

We shot ourselves in the foot at the beginning of the Duke game. There were 2 or 3 outright drops by the receivers that should have gone for 6. They were just straight-up dropped. Play calling was good, the path to the endzone was there, and straight-up dropped.

Also in the Duke game ...the officials GAVE Duke 7 points when Cuse was up 14-10. Duke missed their field goal try, a Cuse player touched the kicker's pinky toe, and the kicker faked out the infraction. First down Duke. They go and score a TD to put them up 3 points.

Rex has been more than a serviceable QB. Can throw the deep ball and, with regular practice, is willing to make the short throw

Rob Hanna is a man out there. The lightest guy on the field, and he shows the rest of the defense how to make plays

Most of our players actually have their name on the back of their jersey. Yes. I said it

The linebacking group as a whole has really "flashed." That's a good group to work with. Gotta find a way to get them to shed blocks in the run game and make a play on the runner

Defense really hasn't gotten beaten deep, with a couple exceptions. Most big gains are long runs.
