let's all share a laugh about BC, UConn, and VT

Interesting facts, but I'm lost as to why that's funny.

It is, however, indicative of the fact that ex-Big East teams seem to be struggling.

UL, VT, Miami and BC aren't what they were. WVU has to be disappointed in their performance in the B12.

Some of this is cyclical. But one wonders how good the Big East was outside of bowl games.

The BE is irrelevant. Happened so long ago, I'd bet there are very few staff members in some of those schools that remember the BE. Much less coaches.

Random thought: I like it much more when we argue about which bowl is better for us.

Why?

Their struggles don't help SU a bit.

It suggests (not proves) that the Big East was not as strong as we thought it was or wished it was.

It would be better for our rep if the old BE teams were at top of the standings not the bottom.

I agree.

Now there are teams I dislike especially based on our experience with them when we were in the same conference.

I'll never understand the anti-BC feeling. We were fully ready to accept the ACC invitation at the same time they were invited. The Governor of VA screwed us out of that one. And we eventually did the same thing as BC.

So did the schools that sued BC or at least those that were invited to join other conferences.

if uconn were good people would think more of SU because they once played on the squiggly graphic espn2 for dozens of viewers

laughing at UConn may not be as easy if they beat USF this weekend

People are making more out of our loss to USF than they really should be. There were several intangible factors playing against us, such as the first road game for a young team. Even though we played probably our worst half of football in a long time, we were storming back in the second half. If not for a couple of missed tackles and a bad penalty by a freshman, we may have pulled that thing out. The final score is very misleading. Our defense gave up three big gaffes which lead to 21 points. Three plays. If we had gotten the ball back down just that one TD, I have no doubt we would have tied the game. But the penalty basically gift wrapped a TD to USF and put us down 14. That swing was the ball game.
