ITS NOT THE FANS FAULT! Put the blame where it belongs.
I did not once say its the fans fault. The point I was trying to make is that in baskestball we have a very unique recruiting edge in the fact that when a top recruit comes for a visit or can see on TV 30,000 fans cheering, its a HUGE advantage. In football when a recruit comes for a visit or sees on TV empty seats, its a lot harder to convince that top recruit to come here rather than a school that has 60k - 100k fans in the seats. The excitement level alone creates a wow atmosphere for the recruit. We dont have that. If your a 4 or 5 star recruit and you have the choice of playing in front of 35k fans at Syracuse or 60k plus fans elsewhere, where would you go? Just trying to state the fact that we dont have a recruiting edge at all in football like we do in basketball, NOT BLAMING THE FANS AT ALL! Is it possible to get 4 and 5 star recruits to turn this program around? YES! its just a whole lot harder.
