Let's start a petition to bring back Upon Further Review to the 5PM drive time

I like the AxMan's articles on Syracuse.com, especially his game recaps, but man his show is just so painful to listen to. The part that drives me most crazy is that he spends the first 10 minutes of his show (and I wish I was exaggerating) talking about what he will eventually talk about in the show. Who needs 10 minutes to review an outline of what's to come?

Anyway, the point really is that I miss the UFR guys. They do such a great job and deserve to have the 5PM drive time. It's gotten to the point that I've started to leave work early so I don't have to listen to Ax...if this keeps up the AxMan might just get me fired.

Help me keep my job and bring back Upon Further Review!

I find all the local sports shows to be hack-ish. Much prefer the national shows on ESPN in the afternoon.

I actually like the ESPN radio format. With Orange Nation 1-2, UPF 2-5, if anything I wish Axe was on longer like the old days.

I still don't know what he was thinking leaving the radio full time for whatever his Job is at Syracuse.com/Syracuse Post Standard/Syracuse Media group or whatever.

We need more of "On the Block".

I agree with you and so does SWC. Axe was very good years ago, on the verge of being plucked for national radio in my opinion. For some reason, he's terrible now. He just plugs his syracuse.com stuff, and like you said, spends all his time talking about "whats coming up" Its remarkable how poor his show is now vs. 5/6 years ago.

The alternative, unfortunately, is Mike Lindsley. I'm not going to spend a minute on him. Its been beaten to death.

I can't stand national shows for the most part. The only ones I like our Steve is Czaban and Dan Patrick. Everything else is pretty much garbage imo.

I like UFR and the current format of on the block. Brent needs to extend his show for another hour or so as he tries to cram everything in to just one hour. He spends the first and last 10 minutes with filler and only around 30 minutes a real content. I am not a fan of the H0T Takes segment at the end to the show

I've heard good things about both. I should be more specific. I like SVP/Rusillo and Lebatard. Cowherd acts smarter than he is...and M&M is sports for peole who don't like sports.

I'd listen to Chris and Steve over Axe anyday. I'm not sure Axe has much of a clue anymore. He tries to act smarter than he is.

Cowherd is the only National show I can listen to.

M&M makes my ears bleed. I've been trying to listen to the guy on 1260AM in the morning (I think the show is called the First Quarter)...but he has a voice made for the Typewriter, not sure what his name is.

When I was up for the Pitt game, I was driving from campus to 'ville on that Friday afternoon and when I heard that on the radio, I immediately drove into a snowbank. He's terrible.

Really Cowherd? He is god awful. I have to stay loyal to my bit JT the Brick, I still remember him stumbling around Geneseo.

I think Axe needs a co-host. Someone to call him on his opinions sometimes and keep the show from devolving into 10 minute rants about Crunch hockey.

When Axe interacts with Chris & Steve I like it so I think if he added a co-host it would help out. Maybe a former SU personality that would add some interesting insight from the player's perspective. That would also make things more personal/interesting when bringing someone like JB or HCSS on the show.

Imagine the Axe & DC show, or the Axe & D Darius show

I nominate Jake and Bees. Then they can stage a coup and toss Axe over the side. Bring in Tomcat and SWC as a rotating 3rd host.

I don't see why the alternative has to be ML? Why can't UFR take back the 5PM-6PM slot?

I simply meant the alternative CURRENTLY during that slot. I like OZ idea of adding a co-host to Axe's show.

Probably made the move for financial reasons as I don't think Syracuse radio is a profitable occupation. What bothers me about Axe is that a lot of the show is "I wrote about this today on syracuse.com" and a lot of times I've read it, so it's boring and redundant.

Oh and apologies if any of you are Pat from Syracuse, but someone needs to tell that guy his name isn't on the show so keep the calls to less than 5 minutes please.

WHO IS Pat from Syracuse? All the local radio hosts love that guy. He brings up some good points especially for a caller.

Did anyone catch his call during the Duke Pregame from the Dome? He said something along the lines "If I see anyone not wearing Orange I am gonna punch them in the face" or something like that.

He's a poster on here. I forget his handle here. gilardino knows it. I actually love when he calls in and goes after it with Steve and Chris. Its pretty good radio.

I agree on Brent. Love his passion for Syracuse, but his show is turrible.

He has always done the talk about what I'm going to talk about shtick, but with his previous show it was the hours so I don't think people noticed as much.

If you took his original show and cut out all the fluff he would have had a killer local one hour show. Instead he does the same thing but in a shorter time and just talks about what he wrote which has already been published.

He needs to pump up the chiefs and crunch, but doing so for fifteen minutes of a hour show will turn off most people.

It's junk, but at least it's local and on the block, not in a cell.

Hey it's pat from Syracuse. I'm in NYC so I usually listen to francesa, but I'll sometimes listen to UFR during hoops season and whenever I do I always hear a call from pat from Syracuse.

And those guys do do a great job, like their show a lot. But once they start talking buffalo bills it's back to francesa.
