Liberty QB Malik Willis (Auburn transfer) had his appeal for immediate eligibility denied by the NCAA

If I were a Flames fan I might see this as good news - two years of eligibility from Willis is a good thing. Buckshot threw for 3,000+ yards last year, they’re set this year for a starter at least and no QB controversy to manage.

This will work in their favor long term

The way their schedule plays out, after us they will be favored or within a couple points of every other opponent this year

Play with Buckshot and Malik sits, learns the system, and starts next two years

If Liberty had a "The" in front of their name and a 100k stadium he would have been approved. The NCAA says if you ain't got the bling you ain't gettin a thing.

The risk for them is what happens if Buckshot gets hurt? I think the backup now is a true frosh.

Playing against the SU defense has left a lot of opponent QBs injured. Buckshot better get rid of that ball extremely quickly.

I am not hoping he gets hurt but this is something that is very possible, especially if Freeze wants to use slow developing long throws.

They do have to play at UVA and BYU so they probably will not be within a couple points there. Then they play at Rutgers, they will be favorites for that game.

JB, our backup QB, is a true freshman but surprisingly most of the fan base feels really comfortable with him (including myself). He is a player that has shown a lot of flashes early and should fill in nicely. Excluding y’all, UVA and BYU I feel he would give us a chance to win.
