Six video games have been inducted into the inaugural World Video Game Hall of Fame: Pong, Tetris, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., DOOM and World of Warcraft.

The other finalists were Angry Birds, FIFA, The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, The Oregon Trail, Pokémon, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, Space Invaders.

What are your five favorite video games of all-time?

I'll say: The Madden franchise, Legend of Zelda on NES, SimCity 2000, GoldenEye on N64 and Twisted Metal on PlayStation.

Fallout: New Vegas
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
NCAA Football (any of them)
NBA Live (particularly the earlier ones)
Final Fantasy VII

Actually, Fallout 3 might bump FF7 off the list.

If I had to pick 5 I'd go Galaga, Tetris, Mortal Combat, Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda

Choices here are really going to give away our ages.

Ahh sheet Golden Eye and Mario Cart for 64 playing 4 players was pretty badarss back in the day when it first came out. On second thought I might put both over Mario Bors and Legend of Zelda although those are the two that really sucked me in. We had Atari and played it regularly but when the NES came out that really changed my view of video games.

This is actually way to hard, so I'll do it this way.

Atari: Galaga and Robotron (only Atari games I continued to play after NES came out)
NES: Mario Bros, Zelda, Mortal Combat
N64: Golden Eye, Mario Cart

Fallout: New Vegas
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
NCAA Football (any of them)
NBA Live (particularly the earlier ones)
Final Fantasy VII

Wasn't the original Fallout a computer game.

I believe so. I never played any Fallout games before Fallout 3...and it was freaking awesome. I haven't touched a video game in like three or four years. I'm going to scrape up some savings to buy a PS4 solely so I can play Fallout 4 when it comes out.

Tetris, Ms. Pac-Man, Frogger, Galaga, Missile Strike.

That should tell you everything you need to know about my age.

Galaga is maybe the most under rated game of all time. I used to play until my brain could actually anticipate the wave patterns. It would only last for so long but being in the zone on the higher levels was sweet.

Yeah, I thought I remember one of my buddies always playing Fallout on his PC way back when.

I actually have an NES and N64 that still work. Kids used to play them with me a lot but got tired of getting whooped. I can never find more than one other Golden Eye player at a time unfortunitaly so I rarely play any of the games on either system.

Galaga

Super Mario Bros.

Donkey Kong

Tecmo Bowl

In one level you had to let your spaceship be captured so that you could get it back and double your firepower in the bonus rounds. Then, you would put the spaceship pair all the way over to one side and just keep hitting the fire button and get the bonus for getting all of them.

Yep, but once you had to move around with the double ship it was hard not to lose one. You had a better firing spread but also took up more space. I'm pretty sure you could only have so many shots on the screen at once as well, which put a premium on accuracy especially as you moved to the higher levels and everything except you got faster.

Tetris, Halo 3, DOOM 95, Super Smash bros N64, Super Smash bros melee (gamecube).

Honorary mention to perfect dark and WWF: Day or Reckoning

Good idea for a thread. Unfortunately, my greatest playing days are behind me, but these ones have a special place for me...

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Madden '03
Grand Theft Auto III
Metal Gear Solid
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Honorable Mention: Mario Kart, Call of Duty, NBA Street, Crash Bandicoot, Twisted Metal, Gears of War

Ms. Pacman and Asteroids. Young posters may have never heard of Asteroids before. I spent more quarters on these 2 games than I care to think about. Space Invaders was good too. Breakout was another oldie but goodie.

Goldeneye
Tecmo Super Bowl
Super Mario 3
GTA 4
SIM CITY 2000

Worst...Ikari Warriors

Great thread! Contra GTA Sim city Golden eye and Mario cart... 4 players many many hours wasted... What great memories
