For a while now, I have been wondering how the various networks get their lineup information. In the past there have been some slight differences but this year there are more "variations" than before. Most often they list:
Cooney G
Gbinije G
Richardson
Robertson
Coleman C
Then there are times when they list 3 guards, (Cooney, Gbinije and Richardson), 1 Forward, 1 Center.
Then there is the 3 forward lineup (Richardson, Robertson, Coleman) and 2 guards OR (Gbinije, Robertson Coleman) and 2 guards..
Then there is the 3 guards, 2 Forward. Or 2-2-1 with Richardson as a guard and Gbinije a forward.
Now to add to the confusion, the University Athletics web site list Gbinije as a forward and Richardson a guard. We know that G is really the point guard and while Richardson is listed as a "guard" I have yet to see him play "up top" in the zone or be in a lineup as a guard with 3 big guys. Now for us fans who know better or could care less, this isn't a problem but to the casual observer or fans form other teams, this is a bit confusing. Why isn't there more consistency in the reporting?
