Gotta give Guthrie a shout-out here as a few have. What a aggressive game from him. I don’t know what changed from Pitt to now whether we decided they need to come downhill or he just said it doing on his own. Super aggressive at attacking line of scrimmage and even when he got blocked he stuffed lineman and gap at los so someone else could make play. Showed much more speed than Pitt game. Shy played really well also here and can that dude run. Boy I am hoping u stay around Bam with Shy starting next year. He is getting better and better. Whit I thought did ok today also. Still not downhill enough for me but better than games prior.

Guthrie is a player.

Agreed, Guthrie looks worlds different at MLB. He is attacking the LOS with some serious authority.

give a little on passing game with better LB play but most of the pass plays are not LB issues anyway. stuffing the run way better the last 2 weeks, mostly scheme issues now not gap control mistakes

Thanks! We will see... him starting 2 games will go along way into his decision. Hoping it continues... I’ll let you know how he grades when he gets it.

FWIW when asked who he think starts at LB next year, Bailey said Shy and Armstrong.
I think whit will start with Guthrie and shy will come in as the third on certain plays. Army has done a great job on third downs and I think they will keep things rolling as they are until something changes. I hope they use the 3 linebackers a lot as it seems to slow teams down and keeps them guessing

So Babers is leaving? Figures SU would be the first to give the HC to a journo.

Shy and Armstrong have improved through PT and the learning curve thus will be a wonderful base for the other LB's to lean and build upon!
