I am sorry I don't dislike Cooney but unlike  others I am not the president  of his fan club or make excuses for a player asked to do way more than he is capable of.  Cooney should be playing less minutes on a better team. He is not an all-conference player like Christmas and Gbinije are. He is a plucky kid who can make shots but isn't consistent and easy to defend. I hope he stays and develops more next year but I doubt it will be much better

Cooney doesn't play any harder than Patterson, Christmas, Gbinije, Roberson but they don't get compliments like they never quit like Cooney gets when its just excuses.  I swear the kid gets hurt but all the defenders that come out of for him. I thank the kid for representing SU but he is not Teflon.
