I went back and took a peek as my post was based solely off Franco's. And, knowing how over the years of posting here, that there are those particular folks who choose to get personal, throw shade at others, etc. when disagreeing, etc. versus staying on point and discussing the subject matter. In any event (per online) an ESL learner apparently is an individual(s ) who are not native English speakers but are learning English as a second language, typically in an English-speaking environment. These learners are often taught in specialized programs focused on developing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to help them succeed academically, professionally, and socially. Perhaps, his response was a form of mockery as you interpreted to be, or, perhaps, he responding himself to a poster's repeated "huh" remarks? What does calling a poster Orangezoo, Orangezoof mean? Perhaps a typo? A quick search online mentions this on 'zoof;' "zoof" doesn't have a single standard definition, but it is most commonly found as a Yiddish (Hebrew) word related to "gold" or can refer to a crypto wallet called "Zoof". Other less common meanings include a proposed slang term for a strong, lovable man... Again, perhaps simply your interpretation of a form of mockery? Which leads me to you last comment. Honestly, I found this to be, I'll say, surprising. You've been here (and other prior incarnations of this board) a long time...as I. I've probably "liked" far more of your posts over the years than you mine. That said, I don't recall us ever getting into it in any 'personal' kind of way, etc. even in disagreement, but simply agreeing to disagree. So, the "high horse" remark is surprising, but I appreciate your complete honesty on how you apparently particularly feel. In closing, for what it's worth, what I enjoy here is having good, spirited honest debate on the subject matter, etc. If there's disagreement, great, we can simply agree to disagree vs. being disagreeable and making things personal. If you choose to think me having no issue in calling those folks out in those moments me being on a "high horse," so be it. That's your opinion/your own thinking...I'll choose to respect it...even in disagreement. Peace.
