What I am about to say is not to be construed as negative, but only a fact of what college football is now in 2019. One important thing that has not been addressed in great detail is how many members of the current team will transfer out at the end of the 2019 season. The rules are now relaxed. These kids come to college to play football and and hopefully get an education. They put in an incredible amount of time into the football part of it and if all they do is practice all week and then stand on the sideline, some of them may wish to look for an opportunity to play elsewhere. Some of these players such as Cam Jonas were highly recruited by big name schools, yet have not seen any playing time at Syracuse. This staff for some reason seems to be very hesitant to make changes when the vast majority of those watching think they should be made. I realize we are not at practice and don't get a behind the scenes glimpse of what goes on. We do however see the games and see the same guys making the same mistakes not only game after game but even worse, year after year. The current roster is 90%+ Dino Babers recruits. Year after year, this staff has put themselves in the predicament of playing one set of guys all year long and then having to rely on new guys the following year with no game experience. That has translated into at least five to seven games of growing pain mistakes which directly contribute to losses. If they become bowl ineligible by the tenth game, I would hope that they would be planning for 2020 and give some guys a shot so they don't look elsewhere. This team can not take that hit regarding depth. I like all of you bleed Orange and hope this staff makes the right moves to salvage this program not only for this year, but for the immediate future. Go Orange!!!!
