And though I don't have a wheelchair, I'd have to rent one for the day which is feasible, I DO have a walker. You would be amazed at how polite New Yorkers get when I use it. And sometimes even when I don't but just genuinely struggle to say get onto the bus, the ones with the ridiculously high riser steps. A seat is forthcoming and once the driver waived my fare.
