Looks like SU will be in the BE one more year

Maybe they want to hold that oh so relevant 2013 Big East Championship game in football, which would require 12 teams.

It sounds like our stay in the BE hinges on the WVU outcome. If they leave for next year, we're gone. And I know for a fact that potential scheduling scenarios are already in the works for BBall should that happen. We'll know more in January, obviously, when the ACC scheduling meetings take place.

If the BE was smart, they would take SDSU's bball team too. But they are not.

As impractical as their football team being in the Big East is, it would be even worse for their basketball team. Could you imagine them having to play a home game on Saturday and then turn around and play a Big Monday game at UConn. Ugh. At least football is just one trip a week.

Or playing @USF on Tuesday then @UConn on Saturday...

LOL at this conference. Can call it "The Coast to Coast" conference. From Providence to San Diego St. We are the conference that covers the entire USA!!!

The reason for the west teams is very simple and doubtful that those western teams will play many games in the east. Boise State said they would only come if there were more western teams ... eliminates the travel part. Therefore you will have a Big East/East and a Big East/West ... with few of each meeting in the middle. In football you will have Boise State, SMU, Houston, and San Diego State and, possibly, Air Force or Louisville. That's 4 mandatory games every year for each. In the East you will have Connecticut, Rutgers, South Florida, Central Florida, and Cincy ... that's 4 mandatory Big East/East games every year.
