Official visit date for Syracuse Jan.31 basketball game against Duke, ohh yeaaaahhhh

Can see why many recruits were told to hold off on taking their officials for the Clemson game

This should be fun

That's got to be for Juniors. No seniors will be uncommitted at that time.
Might have a few seniors but I agree mostly juniors. That should be a HUGE weekend, we should get a ton of visits, IPF should be more than 50% done, hopefully coming off of a bowl win. Game changer

Signing day is February 6th. Plenty of players wait until signing day, plus flip candidates. We will be getting the last impression (and first) on a lot of guys. Plus if we set up a big recruiting date for an event like that we are likely to attract a few more kids just because they would want to see something like that. However you can get them on campus works for me.

That's awesome. Atmosphere to remember, no doubt.

Edit: Should add, it makes sense to have some seniors there too. They can help with recruiting those juniors.

So when will recruits who will be committing this year visiting? Can't be the Duke game.

Also the court will be moved a short distance towards center court to gain a few rows of ground level seats and help out the long view tickets that will be sold.

A meeting took place two weeks ago about this

They've been playing with the seating the last 2-3 years to get a few more people into the Dome.

Great for Juniors, but too late for most uncommitted seniors. Even if they don't announce until signing day, most have their mind made up by then.

Rodney Williams is already committed to Cuse. For kids who are in the fold and not going to waiver this is a good visit.

I don't see much upside with an early October visit. Recruiting heats up in December so if other schools come calling he's already seen your school and that was two months ago.

Syracuse' typical big recruiting weekend was usually the weekend of their banquets which was always around dec 7 -or the 2nd weekend.

I'd rather they take unnoficials for Clemson and all come here after the season. We also have an awesome weekend hoop schedule in January. If I'm fully committed I'm probably coming one of those weekends and there'll be plenty of uncommitted prospects here on those weekends.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do. I know Cabinda said he wanted to take his for the Clemson game, but the staff told him to wait until after the season so he could help with uncommitted players. I assume they would do the same thing with Williams? If you think about it if we count Wayne Williams we really only have 6, maybe 7 spots left, and that's not counting Aaron Roberts, who should commit when he visits Oct. 5th. That would only leave 5 spots. I'm sure there will be a bunch of guys who wait until signing day, it's not unheard of for schools to have a big official visit day the weekend before NSD. Then again I am sure you would like to get guys who haven't visited yet here as soon as the season is over. Williams scheduling his visit this weekend really makes me wonder though. I guess the tell will be what the other committed players decide to do.

Either way it's great for an initial Junior Day. It will allow us an earlier then ever start on next years cycle, something we very badly need to do.

I was told it will not happen.

Decent source.

no to mid- court kid, looking like a short distance towards mid-court by someone who attended that meeting two weeks ago...like ten yards

That makes sense...prob add 2-3k seats and not piss off the regulars too much.

If they move the court and open up more floor seats on the Endzone side behind the scorers table, all those seats should be given to students.
