My uncle, Richard Howarth, passed away at 1am at the age of 79. There is a chance some on here may have known him as he and my aunt were Liverpool, NY residents until the moved to PA to take of my grandfather in the late 90s. After a 2+ month battle with cancer, and learning friday he had beaten the tumor, he suffered a massive stroke yesterday, and today he is gone.
Quick as a whip, and ornery as can be he epitomized that while you do age you don't ever have to "get old". Aside from always being a blast to be around he also left some important impressions on me during my impressionable years. Simple things like manners and the fact that pulling out chairs and holding doors will get you a long way in life. Aside from the serious stuff he was always making folks laugh with his Howie isms. "Shuts wakin" instead of what's shakin and more one liners than I could possibly post here.
You will be missed by many for many reasons but as was your way, you will leave many smiles and much laughter behind.
Everyone, please take time to hug and cherish your loved ones every chance you get. It is never gaurenteed that you will get another chance.
