Lost game on 3 on forced missed layups

Didn't Dion pick up one of his fouls on KJo's miss as well? Although I'm still not sure who Waiters fouled.

How did KJo miss a breakaway uncontested layup? Was in the first 5 minutes of the game and I said that is not a good sign.

cant remember the exact moment, but scoop missed a huge layup fairly late in the 2nd half, think we were down 4 at the time.

Huge. He got to the rim three or four times and converted every other time. His lone miss was on the easiest attempt, from the right side.

Throw in Joseph's "Demetris Nichols against Wichita State" miss and Dion's miss off that great cut in the first half and we left some really easy points out there. There was uncalled contact on some of our missed layups, but those three were just bad misses.

I agree completely.
Forget everything else.
Those two first half missed layups make it a different game.
Yes, Scoop missed one in 2nd half...my recollection was his was a little more contested.

On the other hand...OSU missed an easy tip that wound up being a ridiculously bad offensive goaltending call.

Hello everyone, Im a first time poster here. I was born and raised in the syaracuse area but have resided in Sacramento Ca. for the last 40 years. But I bleed syracuse orange. I agree that the orange missed quite a few layups in this game that cost them. Also with no Melo we did not have an answer for Sulinlger and I think there other big guy was Smith. They just pounded the ball inside like I thought they would and we had no one to stop them.
But all in all, what a season the orange had,one of the best ever. i got some questions for anyone who cares to answer.
What is Fab Melo"s status? Is he done at SU? Coming back? Going to NBA? which i feel is a huge mistake. He is no where ready for that.
How many seniors are we losing?
I see Dion Waiters is gone. He has the game for NBA i do believe.
Who is this Dejuan Coleman from JD-High School.? Is he going to be a player?
And one last question, who is this Noel kid everyone seems to be talking about?
Well thats it for my first post. its hard to get good information on these east coast players living out here like i I do. Thanks for info a head a time.

Why the large font?

1. Fab Melo is gone. I suppose it's not official, but consider it so. NBA will be the goal of course.
2. We lose (in order of importance): Kevin Reece, Scoop, KJo :)
3. Coleman - McD's...yeah, should be a good one.
4. Nerlen Noels - Top recruit, but most people want him for one of two reasons (1) Having Noel and Christmas on the same team is just too good to be true (2) He has a high-top fade.

Sorry for the large font. Is this better? Thanks for the answers to my questions Ghost. Didn"t think Melo was coming back. If he is going to the NBA he is going to be a project. This reminds me of Hasheem Thabeet from UConn. Think he was drafted second overall by the Memphis Grizzlies never to be heard from again. I see is he is a member of the Portland Trailblazers. I could see this happening to Melo. It sounds like the Cuse has some good recruits coming in. Wish the season was starting tomorrow.

Any chance that Fab would come back is probably shot with his academics being a mess.

Welcome aboard Sacto! I can only speak for myself, but I don't mind seeing a different font every now and then. Other than the weather, what are the main differences moving to Cali? I've been thinking about it.

I know what you mean about longing for the off season to pass by more quickly. It shows that the team is part of us. After this season though, I think even us fans need a little down time. If there is reincarnation, I wonder if we have an off-season in the spirit world or get thrown right back in?

That's what i was thinking Knight. Apparently his studies were not a priority for him. That's pretty sad.

Thanks Captain, Living out here is Northern Calfornia has been pretty nice. I got the Sierra Nevada moutains to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west. If you golf which I do you can pretty much golf year round. Lots of great courses. If your into sking or snowboarding we have some great ski resorts for that. Lots of good resturants to chose from. Im 90 miles from San Francisco bay. Lots to see and do there. The weather for the most part is great here. If I was thinking about moving to California knowing what I know now Captain. I would recommend Northern Calfornia in a heart beat. Hope this helps.

BMK who played his butt off on defense had a few missed bunnies when he grabbed a couple of offensive rebounds. One was a little contested but the other early in the 2nd half was right next to the hoop and he should've dunked it instead of going off glass.

In first 7 minutes
6 points and a ton of momentum
Period
How do you lose a game in the first half with three missed layups? Momentum doesn't last an entire half. How would it have carried Cuse the entire game? If Ohio State had been trailing by 8-10 in the first half, it changes the way they play. They would be more aggressive and maybe Sullinger returns to the game with 2 fouls. Some may disagree, but I think OSU was the better team on Saturday. I don't think 'Cuse was robbed. There were definitely some bad calls but they missed shots and turned the ball over when it mattered the most. Not in the first half, but in the second half. That's where the game was lost. A 6 point lead at the half means nothing. Momentum is killed by the 20 min break.

Specifically, the game was lost late in the second half. Brandon hit a three with 6:46 remaining to bring Cuse within a point. OSU went on a 7-1 run in the next 3:30. It went from a one point game to a seven point game in no time.

Cuse's possessions from the 6:45 mark to the 3:45 TV Timeout consisted of:
- Missed three by Brandon
- Missed two by Brandon
- One of two FTs by Baye
- Scoop turnover
- Kris turnover
- Kris turnover
- TV timeout

This was the difference in my opinion and where the game was lost.

This might be the last post on this board as I think everyone is probably having a seizure right about now...

While I agree with what you are saying, the point is you can't miss layups and expect to go to the final 4

Thanks Dawgg,Sorry to shake up the troops with my large font. As you can see Royal I have toned down the print size. I hope this meets with everyone"s approval. I use this black font on other db"s and have never had a problem with it. But i just dont like to use the standard font and probably will check out most of the fonts here but promise to keep the type size down. This is all im going to say about this.
