Louisville, after 2 awful/embarrassing seasons under Kenny Payne (4/28 and 8/24) is now 15/5 (8/1) and #25.
Amazing 1 season turnaround under new coach Pat Kelsey, who masterfully retooled the team with NIL transfers.
The Cards' success is a model for the potential NIL provides to rebuild a program "in a blink of an eye"-
Their story should be an inspiration for any program that's gone off the rails, losing games and losing fans-
If anyone paying attention.

Wish we had Louisville’s NIL money. But we don’t. Syracuse can’t do a one season rebuild like that.

To me the success story of the Cardinals shows me two things. Pat Kelsey is a very good coach and that NIL can make or break a program.

Pat Kelsey is a genuinely good guy too. Had the opportunity to do a father / son basketball camp he ran when he was coaching Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC). Genuine guy, solid family and you could tell he was going places. Used to open the gym and student center to local kids just to help build the fan base and give his players a chance to coach.

I was honestly thinking about this today. We honestly I believe felt like we had a plan. Dakaota Laffew at the 1, JJ at the 2, EL as the center, Malik Brown as the power forward with the rest as depth pieces. I honestly feel it would've been the difference in 5 or 6 more wins, it did not happen secondary to NIL money. I would like the coach haters to chime in. I am so proud of coach Adrian Autry. IMO because he cares and does not want to throw 22 year olds under the bus. I pray he stays true no matter what to himself and his faith. I pray he learns as well as the University what it takes. Donnie Freeman would be a depth piece rightfully so. Completely, completely and an utterly different team. Next, we will hear about the computer coaches discussing the X/O dysfunction without bullets. Good old Syracuse negativity with no insight, none. It's like an 11 year old mindset stuck in a 36 year old body. Utter dysfunction.
