Under those roster circumstances, how good does a portal center have to be to think he can be a sure thing starter with those guys on the roster? If he's good enough to make a difference, he's good enough to want the guarantee, and there will be other schools that want him more than Syracuse will.

Besides, the three forward lineup isn't that bad. The problem isn't so much Brown at center as it is Taylor and Bell at forward.  Taylor is too small to be a power forward, and until recently, Bell wasn't showing much ability to rebound and defend like a forward should.

With Bell invigorated and Freeman a proper power forward physical specimen, we should be fine with three forwards. With three centers on the roster, if we need to go taller, we can.

I expect the centers to get limited minutes unless there's a big unexpected shift, though.
