Caught the game at a sports bar. Sitting at the table next to me were UGA fans watching the game vs. Southern. At one point I overheard them saying, "Every time I look over there Syracuse is sacking the QB." I love that Fournette was carrying the ball in the final minute. I love that he wasn't playing cards on the sideline like Winston. Kneeling, intent, knowing that they had a game. Also loved the often confused, What? look from the LSU guys on the sideline. Love that at the end of Fournette's long run on that miracle last second pitch, two of our undersized guys popped him on the sideline. Did you see any fear or hesitation there? Guy was cruising at full bore, too. Love that his long runs came from generally having wide open lanes, and not from breaking tackles and busting free. Great blocking, good scheme, what are you going to do? He had to earn a lot of those yards today. Would love to hear his impression of our D after a few more SEC games this year. It looked like we were going to run an end around on that wildcat where the snap almost got past the RB. Love Ben Lewis' effort after the catch. Guy has a serious mean streak. What a sweet sweet throw to Estime for the TD. After the last couple years it's good to see multiple QB's hitting those passes on the money. Love that several times, when we needed 1-2 yards, we just lined up and ran it straight at LSU... and converted. What a potentially program-changing win today could have been. Can we charge that CMU punk-ass with an additional crime? We played hard and didn't lay an egg on national TV, against a tier-1 opponent. Good show, men. I also note that Lester's offense has produced with 2 QB's who were not here last year, and had minimal learning time in the system. Maybe his time up in the booth last year was not entirely an indictment of him. Edited to add: we are so much bigger and stronger than when Marrone took over it isn't funny. We looked like we belonged on that field, between plays when the guys were just walking around.
