LSU had a home game scheduled with Arizona State in 2005...then Katrina struck, and shortly afterward, another Hurricane (Rita). LSU's football practice field was being used as a landing pad for helicopters used to rescue people, and the LSU basketball stadium was a triage facility. It was an otherworldly experience.
The game was moved to Arizona State at the last minute, and their fans and administration were fantastic. They donated the profits from the game to Hurricane relief, and many ASU fans invited visiting LSU fans to stay in their houses.
If anyone can understand what it's like to be in the shoes of the SC fans, it's people in Louisiana. Glad we have a chance to pass along the hospitality ASU showed to us.
