That's exactly the type of players we need, guys that are great on the college level but lack something that the NBA looks for to draft early. As opposed to someone with freak athleticism but an undeveloped game that jumps before he's all that good in college.

I wouldn't say he has NO shot at the NBA. He’s most likely a mid to late second round pick. Conventional centers just don’t fit today’s game. Look at Jahlil Okafor. 30 years ago Garza is probably a lottery pick.

If he can consistently hit the 3 that’ll be huge for him. But yeah it’s hard to imagine him being able to guard anyone. But no reason he can’t give a solid 12 minutes a game at the next level

Garza needs to lose a little weight and he can be like Brad Miller in the 2000s in the NBA.

He needs to be a little quicker just for pick and roll defense.
He won’t be a good NBA player because his position is a dying breed.

He is the type of player I have wanted in our program though for years.

I will defer to those who watch the NBA more than I do, but I think he has a shot as 2nd round pick. His strength is more of a traditional center, but he has developed his outside shot quite a bit. 39-109 for 35.8% on 3's last year and 11/16 so far this year, although I highly doubt he will continue on a 68% clip the entire season

As others have mentioned, his defense will be an issue. The guy hustles his rear off 100% of the time he is on the court, but not sure he has the athleticism to defend in the NBA.

But yeah, he is exactly what I hope we could get - fantastic college player that isn't quite what the NBA is looking for.

I just don’t see how he can stay on the floor at the next level .. second he’s in the game ... high screen and roll.. he’s switched onto a guard or quick forward... two pts or a foul .. everyone switches everything .. and nobody is going to change that just so he can get on the court
